Franklin Eddington, 82, of Sioux City died Friday, January 7, 2000 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Floyd Brown officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Eddington was born May 17, 1917 in Fordyce, Ark., the son of Howard and Julia (Eddington) Eddington. He moved to Sioux City in 1956.

He was employed with Swift and Co. for 24 years.

He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, baseball and playing cards.

Survivors include his special friend, Clara Branch of Sioux City, three sons, Benny, David and Patrick Eddington, all of Baltimore; two daughters, Julia Jones of Detroit and Mary Baker of Baltimore and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be the Mount Zion Deacon Board, the Rev. Dan Johnikan, Deacon Tyrone Greene, Deacon Willie Metcalf, Deacon Thomas Nash, Deacon Andrew Pearson and Brother Anthony Norris.

Memorials in his name may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
