Karl C. Dahl, 81, of Bellingham, Washington, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, December 28, 1999, in Bellingham.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellingham. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Greenacres Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bellingham.

Mr. Dahl was born May 17, 1918, in Sioux City, the son of Carl and Petra (Peterson) Dahl. He graduated from East High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945.

He married Dorothy Ericson on May 14, 1945 in Los Angeles. He had retired from Georgia Pacific in 1982 after 41 years.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bellingham Norwegian Male Chorus and Pacific Coast Norwegian Singers. He enjoyed singing, traveling and wood crafts.

Survivors include his wife, two sons and their wives, Ed and Barbara of Bellingham and Jon and Ellen of St. Louis, two daughters, Jan Dahl of Renton, Washington and Ann Dahl of Seattle, eight grandchildren, Larry, Kris, Nik, Jeremy, Mike, Matt, James and Ann, two sisters, Amy Sawyer of Bellingham and Margaret and her husband, Franz Martin of Lewiston, Idaho, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Bert and Margaret Ericson and Tom and Margaret Ericson, all of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Astrid Gaffga of New York and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial may be directed to Music Fund at Faith Lutheran Church, Hospice of Bellingham or Bellingham Central Lions, all in Bellingham.
