Hello, Yes you are right about Hoyme, the family took the farm name in the USA...hoyme is a farm. in the lommens annex, Slidre area, of Oppland Norway.... http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f10543&gardpostnr=46&personpostnr=1207#nedre here is the hoyme ovre farm in the 1801 census.....i have studied these people alot to find a connection to my Throndson....Trondsen....Tronsen name..... Trond Amundsen listed here on the farm had 3 sons that i remember, Ole , Tollev and Amund.....Trondsen's......Trond Amundsen also hd about 5 or 6 wifes that i have found. not sure if they are mistakes or if it is all real....there may be more Trondsens by Trond Amundsen....Trond Amundsen was the owner of the hoyme farm in 1801.....
Evensen is a very norse name.... i too have evensens in my family line.....Even Olsen from decorah being one of them. racheal and even children (decendants) still are in the Decorah area....Olsen worked for the decorah posten, newspaper.... Even and Evensen's are around the decorah area. My GGgrandpa Tollef Trondsen (ODE farm) married the widow Racheal Olsen, who was married to the Evensen's relations in the decorah area....Adding SON was common. changing SEN to son in the USA. both mean son....
A good guess is Hover Evensen.....your Trond Hoyme is a decendant of one of the boys from Trond Amundsen....Ole and Tollev are listed on the link above....the other son Amund is living on another farm and married...sorry i dont have his info with me...im working out of town...their children would have been named in honor of Trond << Amundsen.....from the Hoyme farm........
