Theresa Berner married John Morrison on 18 Aug 1882 in Fort Dodge, Webster County by the justice of the peace. They had been acquainted for only 1 week. John Morrison, an immigrant from Germany, was a saloon keeper in Coalville with 5 children whose wife had died in Feb 1882. Was there a system for ordering brides from other states? Theresa had recently immigrated from Germany and lived in Cincinnati. I believe Theresa had a sister but I don't know her name or if she came to Iowa.
