In Response To: date of grandfathers death (Lois Howey)

There is a Fremont Clayton buried in the Corydon Cemetery - all it lists is 1856-1934.

If that is indeed your grandfather, you can request a copy of his death certificate from the state of Iowa. I've had very good luck with obtaining those from the Iowa Bureau of Statistics. You can find the request form and instructions on the internet. I've always gone to the actual state agencies for death certificates, but I know there are other websites out there that say they can get them for you. I've never used one of those, so I can't say if they are reliable or not.

Good luck with your search & hope this helped a little.
