John & Maria Thompson

I am doing research on ancestors who are buried at Richmond Cemetery, Kalona, Washington Co IA.

John Thompson (b 1803 Ireland; d 1873 Washington Co IA)
Maria Ross Thompson (b 1806 OH; d 1883 Washington Co IA)

I would like to find out who their parents were. I believe Maria's maiden name is Ross.

I searched the death records but did not find anything.

So is there county records of their death, marriage or other legal items? If so, where do I go to find them?

Any help would be great! Thanks.
