Roy Black
(August 28, 1895 – March 2, 1960)

Roy Black, son of Saul and Alice Black, was born Aug. 28, 1895, near Hartford and died March 2, 1960, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Iona Marie Ellison Oct. 31, 1918. To this union were born three daughters, Lorraine Dockery of Des Moines, Phyllis Richardson of Lake View Terrace, Calif., and Louise Gibson, Fullerton, Calif.; one son, William Black of Dallas, Texas. He is survived by four sisters, Vannie Hooper and Floe Hatcher of Orange, Calif., Lowell Tiley of North Platte, Nebr., Faye Foulke of Carlisle; three brothers, Merritt Black of Hartford, Sam and Howard Black of Carlisle, and relatives and friends. Services were held at the Richardson funeral home in Carlisle on Saturday, March 5. Interment was in Palmyra Cemetery.
