Frederick Wayne Beebe
(September 8, 1931 – March 27, 1960)

Frederick Wayne Beebe, son of George Franklin Beebe and Edith Pearl Stewart, was born on Sept. 8, 1931, in Des Moines. He died Monday evening, March 27, from a skull fracture as a bumper jack slipped and he was pinned underneath his car. He was 29 years, 6 months and 19 days of age.
He went to school at Clive and West Des Moines, and spent most of his life in the Clive community. On Nov. 27, 1949, he was united in marriage with Joann Burnham at the home of her parents in West Des Moines. Four children were born to this union: Mary Jane, Patty, Janice and Thomas. They spent the greater share of their marriage life in Clive, and then moved to the farm place, ¾ mile south of Linn Grove Church, where they have resided the past year. Mr. Beebe was employed at the Meredith Publishing Company for the past 11 years. Mr. Beebe was baptized on March 6, 1960, and he was confirmed on March 13, 1960, at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, Des Moines. For the past year he has been a member of St Paul Lutheran church of Martensdale where he served as financial secretary of the congregation. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife and four children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Beebe of Clive; one brother, George Beebe Jr.; four sisters, Mrs. Dan Rodish, West Des Moines, and Shirley, Charlene and Rose Mary, at home; and a host of relatives and friends. Interment was at the Resthaven Cemetery, 1720 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines. The funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martensdale, on March 30, 1961, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Vernon W. Fasse, officiated. Misses Linda Anderson, Karen Martens and Kathy Sinn sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Abide With Me.” Donald Archer accompanied them at the organ. The pallbearers were Donald Anderson, William Groth, Rodney Hansen, Melvin Martens, Philip Martens and Alfred Meilike.
