Hessel Bierma Dead at Nevada
Hessel Bierma, 69, formerly an Indianola resident and a brother of C. K. Bierma, died at the Nevada Hospital June 29 after an illness of more than a year. He had been a civic leader in Nevada since 1935 when he established his business as an insurance agent and later entered the real estate business there. He had served as president of the Nevada Community club and was active in the Lions and Toastmasters clubs. Funeral services will be held at the Nevada Christian church Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens at Ames. The body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral Home until the time of the services. Those coming from a distance to attend the services will include: a brother, Dick of Sutherland, Nebr.; two sons, Robert, of Salina, Kan.; Harold of Santa Ana, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Helen barrow of San Jose, Calif., another son, Wayne, lives in Nevada.
