Obituary – Mrs. Orpha Coles Anderson
Mrs. Orpha Coles Anderson, daughter of Jesse and Leah Coles was born April 28, 1850, and departed this life December 28, 1915, age 85 years, and 8 months. She had been a member of the Christian church for many years. She was united in marriage to Joseph Anderson who died December 28, 1890. To this union were born ten children, six of whom have preceded her to the great beyond. Three sons and one daughter were by her bedside at death. She also leaves three step-sons and fifty one grandchildren, beside a host of neighbors and friends. Funeral service was held at the home Wednesday afternoon, and the body laid to rest in the Christian cemetery. A loved one from us is gone, a voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in our home, which never can be filled. We, her children, wish to thank the neighbors and friends who assisted in caring for our mother in her last sickness.
