Obituary
Lena Schuldt was born in Holstein, Germany, December 23, 1865, and died near Cumberland, Cass County, Iowa, February 24, 1910 – age fifty-four years, two months and one day. She came to this county in 1873 and was married to John Spieker in 1877. To this union seven boys and two girls were born, all of whom are living and were present at the funeral. Besides the children and husband, she also leaves three brothers, George, of Des Moines, Fred, of Atlantic, and Chris., of Norwalk, to mourn her death. She was a member of the German Lutheran Church since childhood and lived a Christian life. Just prior to her marriage she made her home with Fred Martens in Jefferson Township, this county. After her marriage she went with her husband to Cass County in 1880 where they have since resided and had been quite successful.
