BREES, HENRY, farmer, Sec. 20, Union Township; P. O. Sandyville; born June 8, 1827, in Washington county, Pennsylvania, where he was raised; in 1846 he moved to Athens county, Ohio, and in 1855 to Greene county, Wisconsin; not satisfied there he came to Linn county, Iowa, in 1860, where he remained ten years, and then came to this county and located where he now lives and owns 200 acres of land; he was married April 16, 1859, to Miss Elizabeth Lisby, a native of Maryland; they have four children: Phoebe E., Mary A., Joseph H., and Elizabeth L.; they lost one child in infancy.
