Fletcher C. Norman, Sr., son of Joel and Winnie Smith Norman, was born December 13, 1905 at Boonville, Iowa and died Wednesday, February 24, 1988 at his home in Lincoln, Arkansas at the age of 82.
He married Mary Jane Wilson, who died in 1927. Mary Jane's mother was Della Umphrey Wilson of the Pittsburg community and a sister of the late Pear Reed. Mr. Norman later married Elizabeth Gifford.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Robert, Calvert, Texas, Fletcher, Jr., Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Richard, North Little Rock, Arkansas; a daughter, Winnie George, Lincoln, Arkansas; a sister, Mabel Hillman, Dallas, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was a member of Reid Memorial Methodist Church, Houston, Texas.
Graveside services were held Monday, February 29, 1988 in the Pittsburg Cemetery with Reverend Don Morrison officiating. Pedrick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
