Raymond Boyd

Raymond F. Boyd, 78, of rural Kahoka, Mo., died Tuesday, July 22, at his home.

He was born Oct. 12, 1907 in Lamoni, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Anna Hanson Boyd. He married Alice McVeigh on Feb. 28, 1931 in Kahoka.

He had farmed in Clark County and had been employed by the Rock Island Railroad Co. until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Chambersburg Community Church.

Survivors include his wife; sons Charles and Carroll of Keokuk and Carl of Farmington; daughters Mrs. Leona Elder of Kahoka, Mrs. Bill (Dorothy) Woods of Novinger, Mo., Mrs. Helen Dempsey of Keokuk and Mrs. Jerry (Alma) Finton of Warsaw; brothers Frances of Milton, Iowa and Gerald of Farmington; sisters Mrs. Aletha Folker of Farmington and Sylvia Sampson of Montezuma, Iowa; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and two daughters in infancy.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with the Rev. Harold Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Anson Cemetery.

Visitation will be any time today with the family meeting friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight.
