SHIRLEY RATCLIFF ARFMANN

Shirley Arfmann, daughter of Dale and Ethel Potts Ratcliff, was born June 20, 1927 in Douds, an died the morning of Friday, Sept. 19, 1986 in Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 59.

She grew up in the Douds community and graduated from Douds High School in 1944. On Aug. 6, 1950 she married Walter Arfmann in Keosauqua. They were associated with Ratcliff Coal Co. in Douds, lived many years in Cozard, Neb., for a time in Lincoln, Neb., and the past seven years have lived in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Shirley was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kemmerer.

Remaining are her husband, Walter, two sons, Greg of Lexington, Neb., and Matt of Minden, Neb., five grandchildren, a brother, Morris Ratcliff, Orlando, Florida, and a sister, Marilyn Williams, Blakesburg, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 1986 at 1:30 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.
