E. McLean Rites Set

Mary Etta McLean, 97, one of Jefferson County's older residents, died at 6:15 p.m. at the Park View Care Center where she had been a patient since April 29, 1969.

She and her late husband, Thomas E. McLean, owned and operated the McLean Jewelry Store on the north side of the Fairfield Square for many years. John Gimble joined the store in 1946 and bought the business in 1950. Since then it has been known as Gimble Jewelry store.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Fairfield Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.

Mary Etta McLean was born June 21, 1876, near Birmingham, the daughter of William and Sarah Elliott Miser. She lived in the Birmingham and Fairfield Communities all of her life and taught school in Birmingham and Fairfield.

She was married to Thomas E. McLean Nov. 23, 1921, and died March 11, 1963. The family home was at 506 W. Broadway.

Mrs. McLean was a member of the United Methodist Church and Chapter C, PEO. She had no close survivors.
