MICHAEL LEROY TEAL

Michael LeRoy Teal, son of LeRoy and Veneta Pierce Teal, was born May 23, 1965 in Keosauqua and lost his life Sunday, August 1, 1982 in an auto accident on a county road near Douds at the age of 17.

The family lived in Kilbourn until moving to Keosauqua in 1980. Mike was a senior at Van Buren Community High School where he was an honor student and a member of the band and track team. He was employed on a farm this summer.

Surviving are his mother; two uncles, Wesley and Paul Pierce; a cousin, Beryl Pierce; other relatives and friends. His father preceded him in death in 1976.

He attended the Mount Zion Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 4, 1982 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. A memorial has been established.
