Grim dies; rites set

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday for Dewey Grim, 73, route 1, Pulaski, who died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at his home.

The funeral will be conducted at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Galen Peckham. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. The Wagler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Aug. 26, 1888 in Louisa County to W.J. and Jane Elizabeth Cowles Grim. He had been a resident of Davis County for over 60 years and was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Davis County Farm Bureau.

On Dec. 25, 1919, he married Berniece Beggs in Bloomfield.

Survivors include his widow, one son, William of Pulaski, three daughters, Mrs. Mary B. Haworth of Whittier, Calif., Mrs. Christine Clark of West Des Moines, and Mrs. Kathleen Brown of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Albert of Milton and Walter of Bloomfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Wykert of Morning Sun; Mrs. Hazel Bowling of Bloomfield and Mrs. Mabel King of Bloomfield.
