MRS. WESLEY GREENE

The Community was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Wesley Greene, Monday night.

Rachel M. Greene, 59, wife of auctioneer, Wesley Greene of Douds, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua. She had suffered a stroke.

She was the daughter of Charles and Caroline Hewitt Liles, born November 9th, 1921 in Davis County, near Floris.

On October 1, 1938, she married Wesley Greene and lived most of her married life in the Douds Community.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Herbert of Douds and Thomas Dean at home. Four sisters, Sarah Talbott, Eldon; Naomi Lathrop, Ottumwa; Ruth Boliou of Compton, Calif.; Pauline Dodson, Little Rock, Ark. Eight brothers, Albert Liles, Floris; Dwight and Gene Liles, Eldon; Frank Liles, Montrose, Colo.; Bill Liles, What Cheer; David Liles, Arbela, Mo.; Paul Liles, Libertyville; LeRoy Liles, Selma. Three grandsons, Time, Terry, Brian. Preceeding her in death were brothers, Pardon and Everett and a sister, Mary.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Eldon. Services will be Thursday, April 10th at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral home in Douds, with the Rev. Clinton Spilman.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment in the Leando Cemetery.

Memorials to her church may be left at the Funeral Home.
