Mrs. Fred Thoman

Mrs. Fred Thoman, 68, was found dead in the yard of her Mt. Sterling home at noon Saturday, Dec. 6 by her husband. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She had not been ill previously.

Florence Belle Huston, daughter of Simeon and Frances Huston, was born April 20, 1901 in Scotland County, Mo. She was married to Fred Thoman May 10, 1922 in Memphis, Mo. She spent her entire life in the Scotland County and Mt. Sterling areas.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Eston Thoman of Montrose, Fred Thoman of Rochester, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Clella Mae Morris of Bonaparte, Mrs. Waneta Cole of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 in the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Herbert Phillips, pastor of the Mt. Sterling Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Harness Cemetery at Mt. Sterling.
