MRS. ROSE ELLIOTT

Mrs. Emmett Elliott, 74, Bonaparte, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

Her death followed an illness of four months during which she was a paient(patient) part of the time at Keosauqua and Iowa City.

Last rites were Monday at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Taylor, Memphis, Missouri, officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.

Rose Marie Elliott was born August 18, 1910, at Royal, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Kristina Karson Anderson. She was married July 10, 1937, to Emmett Elliott at Spencer.

They farmed in Clark County, Missouri, for a number of years before moving to the Farmington and Bonaparte communities ten years ago. She was employed as a cook at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital for a number of years. After her retirement she was employed part time at the Bonaparte Retreat Restaurant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons: Emmett, Jr., Downing, Mo.; Otto Francis, Darrell Dean and Jerry, all of Bonaparte; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Thomas, Stockport, and Mrs. Zelma Wallingford, Bonaparte.

Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, one brother, Pete Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Walton, Spencer. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
