Albert Wichhart

Fairfield - Albert Wichhart, 86, died Sunday at 6:20 a.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in serious condition about four months.

He was born Aug. 23, 1886, at Arnhem, Holland, to Wilhelm and Janje VanDellen Wichhart. On Oct. 15, 1908, at Monroe, he married Christina Wichhart. She died Dec. 5 of this year. The funeral was Friday, Dec. 8.

He was a molder and blacksmith and had lived in the Fairfield community for more than 44 years. Surviving are two daughters, Alverda Wichhart of Fairfield and Mrs. Harold Buchanan of Libertyville; one son, Roy of Keosauqua; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by one sister.

The services was held Tuesday 2 p.m. at Weston Behner Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Jerry D. Yancey. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Fairfield.
