Rueben F. Vance

Funeral services for Rueben F. Vance, 77, rural Hillsboro, were held from the Beatty-Jennings Chapel in Salem on Thursday, Oct. 6, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Edmund Neubauer officiating. Mr. Vance departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 3:10 a.m. at Burlington Memorial Hospital, Mercy unit, Burlington, Iowa.

Interment was in the Hillsboro Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the Hillsboro Belmont Lodge No. 120. Casket bearers were J.M. Dodds, Bob Moothart, Rex Jannings, Forrest Wallerich, Bill Whitaker and M.M. Doan Jr.

Mr. Vance was born March 4, 1895 at Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edward and Augusta Vance.

On April 26 1924 he was married to Lila Henry at Clinton.

Mr. Vance was a farmer and had lived in the Hillsboro community since 1943.

he was a member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, his mother of DeWitt, Iowa, nieces and nephews.

His father, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
