MARION SCOTT AYLWARD

Marion Scott Aylward, the son of John and Lena Smith Aylward, was born June 19, 1932 at the family farm north of Arbela, Mo., where he spent his entire lifetime. He was a farmer and a sign painter. He died October 11, 1979 at age 47, as a result of injuries received in a truck accident north of Luray, Mo.

On December 11, 1958, at Memphis, Mo. he was married to Joanne McLeland. Their union was blessed with two children, Michael Marion, who farmed with his father, and Ellen Louise, a student at Northeast Missouri State University at Kirksville, Mo.

Marion was a member of the Arbela United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Scotland County Historical Society, and was also actively involved in Farm Bureau and had served as a board member for several years. He had also served on the Scotland County Republican Central Committee for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife and two children; his mother, Mrs. Lena Strandburg of Memphis, Mo.; his step-mother, Mrs. Clarice Aylward of Memphis, Mo., his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Craig McLeland of Arbela, Mo.; brother-in-law, Dale McLeland of Arbela, Mo.; uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Aylward, and is step-father, Melvin Strandburg.

Funeral services were held at the Arbela United Methodist Church on Sunday, Oct. 14, 1979. Interment in the Memphis.
