Mrs. Fern Atkins

Mrs. Ivah F. Atkins, 82, of Milton, died at 5:30 A.M. Monday Feb. 2, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua, following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of George and Helen Colvin Luman, she was born in Scotland County, Mo., Dec. 3, 1887. She had lived in Davis and Van Buren Counties most of her life and was a member of Milton United Methodist Church.

Her marriage to Fern Atkins took place Jan. 4, 1905. He died in 1958.

Survivors include a foster son, Harold Packelson of Burlington, who was reared in the Atkins' home; one brother, James A. Luman of Milton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funera service was Wendesday at 2 p.m. at Milton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herber Phillips officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery.
