FARMINGTON - Edna C. Poute, 77, of Farmington, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday at Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born April 5, 1907 in Van Buren County, Iowa, the daughter of Elliott Marshall and Edith Wollenweber.

She married Gilbert Sprecht May 6, 1927. On Feb 14, 1948, she married Edward L. Ponte.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmington, a past matron of OES Mizpah Chapter 24, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Farmington Cemetery Assn.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Veach (Ruth) Harmon and Betty Spech of Yuma, Ariz.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Wellman of West Point; one brother, Ernest Marshall of Farmington; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, her parents, her husbands, one brother, one sister, one step-son and one step-daughter.
