Obituaries

Mary Colleen Williams
July 17, 1952, to Feb. 24, 1996

Mary Colleen Williams, 43, of Ames died of cancer on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born to Maurice Anson and Jessie W. (Wire) Warren in Des Moines on July 17, 1952.

A lifelong resident of Story County, she was a 1970 graduate of Ballard Community School, she had lived in Ames for 20 years. She was formerly employed by the National Animal Disease Center, Ames, and the American Red Cross. She preformed volunteer work at Rolling Green Village in Nevada and at Open Line in Ames.

Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth A. Holder, Jessie Dalene Holder, Tia Marie Williams and Erin Tiffany Williams, all of Ames; one son, Patrick A. Holder of Ames; one brother, Frank Warren of Cambridge; three sisters, Rita Swarens of Chino Valley, Ariz., Darlene Knotts of Newberg, W. Va., and Judy Grass of Cambridge, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lora Scott; and one brother, Fred Warren.

Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established and should be directed to 316 So. Walnut, Apt. #8, Ames, Iowa 50010. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
