Nellie Pals, age 77, died Tuesday, August 2, in Whitinsville, Massachusetts.

Services were held on Saturday in Whitinsville, Massachusetts and will be held 10 A.M. today, Wednesday, in Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Reverend Henry J.Vermeer officiating.

Nellie was the sixth child of nine born children born to Arie and Hillena (Kooiman) Pals.

She attended the Christian Elementary School and Western Christian Academy, both in Hull. After graduating from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Missouri, she was a teacher in schools in Edgerton, Minnesota and Hull.

She was a long-time dedicated teacher in the kindergarten and lower grades of Whitinsville Schools. She taught reading and math in the special education department of the Whitinsville Christian School.

Some years ago, she received a best teacher award from the state of Massachusetts for outstanding teaching of reading.

She was an active member of the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, where she taught catechism, and Bible school and sang in the choir.

Survivors include two brothers, Emery Pals of Hull; and Eric Pals of Cadillac, Missouri; two sisters, Irene Monsma, of Silver Springs, Maryland and Hillene Attema of Rock Valley and twenty-six nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: William and George Pals and two sisters, Katie Rolefson and Grace Caswell.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School, Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, Massachusetts.
