Employment: After she graduated from high school, she worked in Missouri Valley, IA in the drug store at the soda fountain and as a Western Union operator. She was then employed by First National Bank in Missouri Valley for 8 years. After moving to Avoca, IA for Don’s job, she worked at a day care center and as a cook at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She then spent 10 years employed by Citizen’s Savings Bank until her retirement in February 1987.

Hobbies/Interests: Member, the Avoca Federated Club; member, Legion VFW Auxiliary. (She worked for many years helping Donald with the Legion’s bingo night.) With Donald, they enjoyed traveling and went on many trips with the bank’s travel club; in 1996, they traveled to Berlin, Germany for Donald’s 50th year army unit reunion. Enjoyed fishing at Lake Lida Resort in Pelican Rapids, MN every July with Donald’s brother Robert and his family for almost 30 years; enjoyed spending time with family, and sewing, crocheting, and gardening
