Last rites for John Schnoor, 66, will be held at the Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Durant at 11 a.m. today (Feb. 29). The Rev. L. Jack Ehlers will officiate. Burial is in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Schnoor died at his home in Durant Feb. 26.

The son of William and Ann Dierksen Schnoor, he was born in Scott county Nov. 26, 1917.

He was a veteran of World War II. He was married to Lorene Doerscher in Davenport in 1946. He was a member of the Durant Lions club, American Legion Post 548, Walcott; Masonic Lodge 167 AF&AM, Wilton; the Walcott Community club and a former director of the Stockton Elevator.

He retired from farming in 1976.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Nila Schnoor, Bettendorf; 2 sons, Gary, Durant and Kevin, Davenport; 2 grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Erma) Dethiefsen, Davenport and 4 brothers, Harvey and Elmer, both of Davenport; Herb, DeWitt and Ray, Grand Island, NE.
