Funeral services for Carl Burkamper, 61, were held at the Frick Funeral home, Durant, Aug. 12, with the Rev. Jack Ehlers officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Burkamper died at Rochester, Aug. 10.

The son of William and Lena Scharff Burkamper, he was born in LeClaire, Sept. 8, 1913. He was married to Anna M. Mortensen in Cambridge, Ill., in 1936.

A former rural Durant resident, he had lived in Davenport for 10 years. He was a machinist at Bowe Engineering Co., Bettendorf, for 10 years. Before that he had been a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Jon Wardell, Davenport; a son, Gary, Grand Mound, 4 grandchildren and a brother, Alvin, LeClaire. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
