SIBENA MCSPADDEN WAS
NATIVE OF BARNES CITY

Sibena, daughter of Jacob and Surilda Morrow, was born near Barnes City May 13, 1875, and passed away in Des Moines, Oct. 8 at 84 years of age.

In 1892, she was united in marriage with William McSpadden. To this union a daughter was born.

They made their home in the Barnes City community until a few years ago, when they were unable to care for themselves. During the later years of their lives they spent the winters with their daughter in Cedar Falls, but returned with the spring to their own home in Barnes City. About a year ago, they entered a nursing home, where Mr. McSpadden passed away in February of this year.

She is survived by her daughter, Opal Rugg, now of Des Moines. Three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also, a brother, Frank Morrow, Barnes City; two sisters, Della Armstrong, Sigourney, and Nell Cruzen, Davenport; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Steffy Funeral Home with Rev. William (Rieckboff)??, Methodist church of Barnes City, in charge. Mrs. William Landstrum played selected hymns.

Interment in Barnes City cemetery. The Casketbearers were William Landstrum, Richard Carnal, William Rugg, Jerry Landstrum, Don Carnal and Cliff Grubb.
