CHARLES HART NORRIS

Charles Hart Norris, 54, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, June 1, in Santa Rosa, Calif., following a two-week illness.

He was born Feb. 15, 1945, in Iowa to George and Ferne Norris, long-time residents of Grinnell.

After high school he spent five years at the University of Hawaii, studying hotel and tour management. In the meantime, he began working for United Airlines as a passenger service representative, a job he had held since, in Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

He was married to Louise Turner Taylor, also a United Airlines employee, Aug. 16, 1987. She survives at their home near Sebastopol, Calif.

Also surviving are his mother, Ferne Hart Norris of Grinnell; two brothers, Richard L. of rural Grinnell and Steven D. of Irvine, Calif.; and one sister, Jackie Norris Dale of Port Ludlow, Wash.
