GEORGE NORRIS

George Wilson Norris, 81, of 9 Lake Shore Dr.,(Oakland Acres) Grinnell, died following heart surgery Thursday, May 16, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

The body was cremated. There will be no services. However, there will be a celebration of his life at a later date.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to local chapters of the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association or to Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 14, 1914, near Brooklyn, the son of Elzy and Harriet Wilson Norris. He was married to Ferne Opal Hart of Seymour May 22, 1938. She survives at their home at Oakland Acres.

Also surviving are four children, Richard Lloyd of rural Grinnell, Charles Hart of Sebastopol, Calif., Jacqueline Carole Dale of Port Ludlow, Wash., and Steven Donald of Irvine, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Retta Baker, Agnes Montgomery and Thelma Fountain; two brothers, Lloyd and one in infancy; and his parents.
