The news arrived here last Saturday from Council Bluff, Iowa, that Mrs. Louisa Brown had died the evening before after a long hard illness. She was born here 7. Jan. 1860 and had brought her age to 46 years, 9 months and 25 days. After reaching age she attended the local public schools, which she later left with honors, and went to Council Bluff. After a six months stay there she returned here again and went to Valprariso, where she trained as a teacher in the State Normal School. In 1878 she left school with distinction and received a position as teacher in the local public schools. She worked here 14 years long to the general satisfaction. In 1886 she made a trip to Switzerland with her sister, where she spent a few months, and then returned here again.

On 24 Nov 1898 she married Mr. C.H.W. Brown in Council Bluff, who she now leaves with six step children. She also leaves three brothers living here, ExCity Councilman Fritz Mulchi, Dr. W.H. Mulchi and John Begert, as well as many friends who mourn her passing. Her sister, Miss Emma Mulchi, preceded her in death 2 Jul 1899.

In Jun 1905 she was here on a visit and was already ailing at that time. Having returned to Council Bluff, her ailment worsened and during the previous summer Miss Louisa Mulchi from here stayed with her to assist her. The ailing person seemed to gradually recover, however, in recent times her condition worsened until she was relieved by death the previous Friday evening. Her remains were buried Monday afternoon in Council Bluff to their final rest.

FUNERAL

The funeral of the late Mrs. Louise M. Brown will take place Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the First Congregational Church. Rev. O. O. Smith will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
