Death of Mrs. Henry Heine
Mrs. Henry Heine, aged sixty-two years, of Shelby, Iowa, who sustained a broken spine as a result of a fall from an apple tree last Wednesday at the country home of her daughter, Mrs. Chris Rockholm, northwest of Avoca, died early Sunday morning in the Jennie Edmundson Memorial hospital in Council Bluffs. Mrs. Heine went into the orchard to assist in picking apples, and while in the tree the limb on which she was standing broke and she was precipitated to the ground. Mrs. Heine was carried to the house and examination by the family physician showed that she suffered a fractured vertebrae of the spine. Dr. Donald Macrae of this city was called in consultation and Mrs. Heine was removed to the hospital at Council Bluffs where an operation was performed. Paralysis set in from her waist down, and there was very little hope at any time for her recovery. Beside her husband, Mrs. Heine is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Richard Wiley, and another daughter, Mrs. Christ Rockholm of near Avoca. The body was removed Sunday morning to Woodring’s undertaking parlors, and in the evening the remains were taken to Shelby where the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home. The relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in their great sorrow.
