Torkel Larson born 1845 in Norway son of Lars and Maggie (Thompson) Larson. First came to Wisconsin, Rock County. In 1870 Torkel married Helen Shirley in Rock Co. Torkel came to Grant Township, Pocahontas County, Iowa, abt 1871. Torkel and Helen had five children Horace, Ira, Cora, Ella, Ivah. Any information on Torkel and his family would be appreciated. Torkel served in the Civil War probably with a Wisconsin Regiment. Believed he may have been a prisoner in Andersonville and escaped. Any Information on his Military service would also be appreciated.
