Mildred Kluver, 92, of rural Ireton, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.

Mildred Lena Reichel was born May 3, 1929, in Hawarden, the daughter of George and Anna (Suhren) Reichel. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township. She attended country school in Plymouth County and later high school in Le Mars.

She graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1947. She attended Western Union College in Le Mars where she received her teacher’s certificate. She taught country school in Plymouth County for a few years.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Kluver on Feb. 16, 1950, at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township. The couple farmed near Craig, for many years. Clarence died June 3, 1997 in Le Mars. Mildred continued to make her home on the farm.

Mildred was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was active in the ladies’ aide for many years. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and reading books, magazines, and newspapers.

She also enjoyed taking fishing trips with her family and doing word search puzzles.

Survivors include her son, Larry Kluver of Ireton; a daughter-in-law, Christine Kluver of Le Mars; three grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Krupicka of Nevada, Scott (Michelle) Kluver of Le Mars, and Curtis Kluver (fiancé, Jessica Smallfield); five great-grandchildren: Callie, Jayden, Aubree, Miles, and Jackson; a special cousin, Sharleen Orazi of Scottsdale, Arizona; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Reichel; her husband, Clarence Kluver; and her son, Arlan Kluver.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township, rural Le Mars. The Reverend Shawn Brooks will officiate. Private family burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars.

Visitation with the family present will be from 4-6 p.m., Monday, March 28, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.
