Hi Mary. I chased the old Raccoon for many years and he was quite a character. I thought he might be my line but DNA has proven that he was not. I have proven that by buying a kit for a gentleman in Iowa and having a friend of his ask him to please do the test. He was a proven direct descendant of John Raccoon Miller. My contact to Mr. Miller in Page Co.,Iowa was through a librarian (I have forgotten her name) at the Nodaway Valley Historical Society who knew him and in fact drove by his house on the way home each day. I don't know if he has any interest in genealogy but he was very helpful in taking the test and proving his Raccoon Miller lineage didn't match mine. In fact I promised not to bother him again if he would just do the test. I worked entirely through the librarian. Do you know anything about Raccoon Miller? He owned a lot of land near Knoxville, Tennessee actually in Hawkins Co. in Raccoon Valley, where he is buried. I didn't know if you meant you had trouble getting a link to the man who matched or a link to Raccoon and his history. Please let me know. Glad the DNA matched and that helped you find your Miller line. Seems like Elijah (Wolf?) Miller was one of the children who left Tennessee and went to Iowa. Don't know why I'm thinking his middle name was Wolf because it has been a long time since I studied him. If you still live around there, it might be worth a trip to the library. There were many letters written from Page co. Iowa Millers during the 20's and 30's requesting military history on Raccoon. I believe there was some information on file there about him in Page Co. I drove from Oklahoma to Knoxville one summer to study him years ago. Thank you for making contact. Beth
