John Banwarth, b 1886

I am looking for any information about John Banwarth, b 1886, who lived in the Peru/Sherrill area of Dubuque Co. We believe he was b in NY and was adopted by George and Anna Engler Banwarth sometime prior to 1895 (where he is listed in the household as age 9 in the Iowa State census for that year). We believe he is likely one of those children who arrived on the Orphan Trains. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
