Mrs. Henry Peterson, nee Eva Geniveve [sic]Bachman, the daughter of B. Frank and Sarah Bailey Bachman, was born Jan. 24, 1898 at Windom, Minnesota. She passed away at the Hartley Hospital on Feb. 21, 1967 at the age of 69 years and 27 days.

She attended school in Windom, Minn., and had been a very active member of the Order of Eastern Star, being Worthy Matron in 1934 and a charter member of the Jeffers O. E. S., the Rebekah Lodge, the Athena Club, and the Royal Neighbor Society For the past several years she had been in failing health and unable to actively participate in community affairs. She was a member of the Methodist church of Hartley.

Her marriage to Henry W. Peterson took place at Jeffers, Minn., on Sept. 8, 1915. Their first home was at Jeffers, Minnesota, where she had moved at the age of 16. They continued at Jeffers a total of 24 years, after which they moved to Hartley, Iowa. She had been a resident here for 29 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; two daughters, Aldena (Mrs. Virgil L. McCormack) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Sadie (Mrs. Delbert Coatsworth) of Storm Lake, Iowa; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Elmo F. Bachman of Santa Ana, Calif., as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her many friends.

Preceding her in death were one grandson, William Gale Coatsworth; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Talbott and Ethel Bachman; four brothers, Gule Bachman, John Bachman, L. B. Bachman, and Frances Bachman.

Services were held from the Methodist church in Hartley, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Keith Scott officiated. Pallbearers were Clair Peterson, Albert Christensen, Arnold Bass, C. W. Sauer, Elvis Watters and Clarence Pettijohn. She is at rest in Pleasant View cemetery, Hartley. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
