Funeral services for Dewey Sissel, 66, were held at First Christian church, Muscatine Nov. 22 with the Rev. William Keller officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Mr. Sissel died at Muscatine General hospital Nov. 19.
The son of John H. and Anna Spence Sissel, he was born in Hayfield, MN May 2, 1917. He was married to Leona Wagler in Missouri Feb. 4, 1942. He had lived in the Muscatine area since 1950.
A veteran of World War II he served in the army quartermaster corps and was wounded on Luzan while serving in the Pacifica theatre of operations. He had owned the Fish and Chips Restaurant in Muscatine, was employed at Hetzler's Dairy, was an agent for Rockford Life Insurance had had worked for the Muskie Trading Post.
He was a member of First Christian church, Elks Lodge No. 304, The Antique Car club, the Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of the Purple Heart No. 117.
He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Kary, Wilton; Tim, West Branch and Kent, Muscatine and a brother, Jack, Moline, IL
