Funeral services for Lawrence "Buck" Beaver, 68, West Liberty, were held June 21 at the First Church United in West Liberty, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer and the Rev. Gerald Foley officiating. Mrs. Betty Farmer was vocalist and Mrs. Dorothy Mays was organist. Pallbearers were Larry, Andy, Jody and Alan Beaver, and Robert and William Whitlock. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Taylor, Wayne Noring, Lloyd Simpson, Lewis Erwin, Harold Seibel, Robert Milder, Howard MacGowan, Jerry Aubrey, Richard Owen, Alvin Harmsen, James Cirivella, Jay Jo Wright, Howard Lane and Ralph Arnold. Burial was in Oakridge cemetery. Snider Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beaver died June 18 at his home after an extended illness.

He was born Dec. 8, 1914 in Sunbury to Lloyd and Sophie Wendt Beaver. He attended the Cedar county rural schools. He married Nellie Moomey Dec. 8, 1936 in Muscatine and farmed near West Liberty.

He is survived by 2 sons, Lyle, Iowa City and Richard, West Liberty; 6 grandchildren; his parents of West Liberty; 2 brothers, Marvin, West Liberty and Donald, Atalissa and a sister, Mrs. Luvere Jean Petersen, Tipton. He was preceded in death by his wife in December, 1980 and by 2 grandchildren.
