Mrs. Carrie Jack, 74, died at 5 o'clock Monday morning at her home in West Liberty, following an illness of several years.

Mrs. Jack was one of a family of 11 children of John and Sarah Chisman. She was born October 16, 1857, near Lawrenceburg, Ind., and when two years old came with her parents to Linn county. She was married to William C. Jack January 7, 1880, at Solon. Following their marriage they lived on farms in Johnson, Cedar and Muscatine counties. They made their home in West Liberty since 1912. Mr. Jack died seven years ago. Mrs. Jack was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Surviving are three children, H. C. Jack of Chicago, Carl at home and Miss Otie, at home, and four grandchildren, Frances, Robert, Genevieve and Juanita Jack of West Liberty; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Waud of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Enon Vaughn of Kansas.

Burial was made Wednesday at West Branch.
