23 May 2018Clarence D. Phipps, 72, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Private family burial will take place. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service at the chapel. Family requests casual attire for all those in attendance. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Clarence Dwight was born on December 11, 1945, in Blencoe, Iowa, the son of Harold and Ruby D. (Brink) Phipps. He grew up in rural Blencoe. He attended Blencoe School and graduated from West Monona High School in 1964.
Clarence and Candace Jean Albertson were united in marriage on February 20, 1982, in Onawa.
He was a lifelong farmer in Monona and Harrison Counties. Working with the land was his greatest enjoyment. He loved farming and everything associated with it.
Clarence loved his family very much.
Survivors include his wife, Candace Phipps of Onawa, IA; son, Jeffery Wade Phipps of Onawa, IA; daughter, Jana Renee` (Bruce) Samuelson of Onawa, IA; grandson, Cameron Michael (Mandy Hoistad) Trudeau of Onawa, IA; granddaughter, Olivia Ruby Phipps of Onawa, IA; siblings, H. Lee (Margaret) Phipps of Little Sioux, IA, JoAnn (Charles) Orsini of Onawa, IA, Donald (Denise) Phipps of Blencoe, IA, Larry (Pat) Phipps of Iowa Falls, IA, Linda (David) Urban of Sioux City, IA, and Lori (Raymond) Mousel of Onawa, IA; brother-in-law, Donnie (DiAnn) Albertson of Homer, NE; and many nieces & nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Margie Jean Peters.
