Delores "Dee" Blake, 67, Onawa, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Delores was born September 15, 1937 at Canasta, Iowa, the daughter of Ernst and Dora (Gray) Steward. She was raised in the Castana and Onawa areas.

She was a waitress over 40 years at various restaurants in the area; Green Lantern at Decatur, NE, Onawa Cafe and B & B Roundup. She had been a resident of Elmwood Care Centre since December 2004 due to failing health.

Delores was a member of the American Diabetes Association. She enjoyed crocheting and has made many lovely pieces to share with family and friends.

Survivors include a special friend, Jim Hime of Onawa; her mother, Dora Steward of Omaha, NE; six sons, Douglas "Doug" Blake, Michael "Mike" Blake, and Craig Blake all of St. Paul, MN, Kevin Blake of Onawa, Mark Blake of Washington and Brian and his wife Jenna Blake of California; a daughter, Regina Simmons of Onawa; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Bernell and Sinda Steward of Missouri Valley, IA, Bernard and Anna Mae Steward of Wadsworth, OH, and Norman and Donna Steward of Omaha; three sisters, Lois and her husband Jim Adams of La Vista, NE, Shirley and her husband Russ Jenkins of Macedonia, IA and Berniece Birk of Council Bluffs, IA and many nieces and nephews.

She was, preceded in death by her father and an infant sister, Ardith.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Rev. Dennis Olsen' officiating. Music selections were "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa.
