I have checked in the photos, with the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project; https://iowagravestones.org/, and did not find a burial for him.
I also checked the deaths in Mills County, from 1880-1899, these were taken from the original county records held in Glenwood; http://iagenweb.org/mills/deaths/dthndxa-k.htm. I didn't find any Dobson's.There are a couple of cemeteries in Emerson, http://iagenweb.org/mills/cemeteries/index.htm. Both the Emerson Cemetery, and the Hastings/Mennonite Cemetery. The later does not have its burials listed. The Emerson Cemetery did not have your ancestor listed.
Lastly, I checked the Mills County Iowa, Cemetery Index Book. I could find no burial for your ancestor. It's possible he died in Emerson and was buried on the property and the death was not properly recorded. However, there is no way to confirm that.
The Glenwood Library has a helpful Genealogical section. They don't really do research for people, but have many available resources, if you are in the area, I would recommend visiting the library. Also, just across the street from the library is the Courthouse, and they have the original books of deaths for Mills County.
