Services For Sylvia Ryke
Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Ryke, who died Feb. 17 at Collins Memorial Hospital, were held Feb. 19 from the Harvey Assembly of God Church with Rev. Roger S. Pettijohn officiating. Burial was in Eureka Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Casket bearers were William Wycoff, John Visser, Engle Vander Veer, Engle Vander Veer Jr., Raymond Burkhart and Manford Burkhart. Rose Dickerson was soloist.
Sylvia Viola, daughter of Daniel B. and Eliza Cox Redding, was born Sept. 15, 1898 at Harvey. In 1916 she was united in marriage to Clyde Hegwood, who died in 1932. In 1945 she was married to Rick Ryke, who died in 1967. She spent her entire life in the Harvey community where she was active in community affairs, was a member of the Assembly of God Church and of the Eureka Cemetery Aid.
She is survived by one son, Chalmer Hegwood of Newton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Altia Moore of Delta; and a brother, Floyd Redding of Harvey.
