I reserach a GIBSON line that went from Cedar county, IA (1854) to Floyd Co., IA leaving there ca 1856/57 and was in Missiouri for the 1860 census. The head of household was a Joseph Gibson. His third daughter was named Mary. Mary Gibson was in her parents home for the 1856 census in Floyd co., IA but was not in the parents home in 1860 census. I have been unable to find her or anything about her since 1856 when she was 16. A family bible does not mention her except for her birth in 1841. There is a marriage between a Mary Gibson and a Charles CLARK listed in Mahaska county for 4 Nov 1858. Joseph Gibson had a sister-in-law, Mary/Polly (GROVE) HARRIS living in Des Moines Twp, Mahaska county, IA in 1856. Oral Gibson history has Joseph Gibson's youngest child, Levi Gibson, born in Eddyville, Ia in 1857. I would like to be able to determine if this Mary GIBSON who married CLARK in 1858 is Joseph's daughter. I have considerable Gibson genealogy I would be willing to share as well as some Grove/Harris genealogy.
