George E. Conn was born in Madison county, Ia., January 16, 1874, and passed away at his home in Union county, Iowa, November 2, 1930, aged 56 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was the son of Simeon and Eliza Conn.

He was united in marriage to Oma Anderson and to this union were born two children, one daughter and one son, Iva Crittendon and Ivan Conn, both of Thayer, Iowa. Besides his wife, two children and two grandchildren, he leaves to mourn him two sisters, Sadie Bartlett of Bancroft, Neb., and Molly Sampson of Colorado, also three brothers, Charles Conn of Bancroft, Neb., Moffet of Jacksonville, Florida, and Fred of California, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

George Conn spent most of his life in Iowa with the exception of a few years when he resided at Bancroft, Neb. He was a member of the Woodman lodge, was a loyal friend and neighbor and a kind and loving husband and father.

Funeral services were held at the Hopeville Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by the former pastor, Rev. Leo Wolfe. Interment was made in the Hopeville cemetery.
